I am searching for information about my mother and her family. My mother was Loraine Elizabeth DeLaunius. She was born on a farm near Marion, IL, where her father died during the depression. Her father's name was William Robert DeLaunius. He was a carpenter before he took up farming. Her mother was Enola Hattie Williams who died three years after her husband and had been teaching at a business school before her death. They are both thought to be buried at Maplewood Cemetery. Also, my mother's Paternal Grandfather may have been living in Marion at the time of his death in 1919. My mother was born in 1919. I have heard her speak of some friends-a married couple named speed and Eva who owned a business in the town square.
Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

I am the son of Thomas Theron McClanahan.
Born out of wedlock to Shirley M. Martz in Chicago on August 23, 1947. His name is on my birth certificate and my mother told me he was born in Marion. If he is still alive, he would be around ninety-one years old and living on S. Bentley in Marion. If I recall correctly, he had a brother named John who is now deceased. In 1967 I spoke on the phone to one,"James Hammer King", who told me he was a cousin to Theron.
I have no intention of making contact with Theron. I am hoping that someone can tell me something about his family history. His parents names, how long his family has been in the US. What part of Ireland they came from. Where they first settled in the US. Any stories of interest.
I have five children. They all know of my origin of birth. I have never been able to give answers about my fathers side of the family. Now I have eight grandchildren, my children won't be able to answer questions for them when the time comes. That leaves fourteen people in the dark including me.
I am sincerely hoping someone can shine a little light on this.

I am The Rev. R. David Reynolds, Pastor of the Decatur Central United Methodist Church. I am a 1966 graduate of Marion High School. I was born on February 18, 1948, at Carbondale's Holden Hospital, to Arvel Corum Reynolds and Eva Zell Ferrell Reynolds. Dad's birthdate was March 16, 1905, and Mom's was January 7, 1907. They were originally from Carterville. Dad's parents were John Reynolds and Ida Bell Taylor Reynolds. Mom's parents were John, I believe, J. D. Ferrell, and Etta Missouri Davis Ferrell. They would all have been from the Carterville--Devil's Kitchen Area. In fact, a book on the Taylor family that lists my wife Elizabeth Ann Bluff Reynolds and me in its geneology was published around 1974 under the title THE TALORS OF DEVILS KITCHEN. Ernie Reynolds, former IHSA Basketball Referee, and a Carterville native is my first cousin. My Mom's side Lavern Ferrell of rural Carterville is my first cousin. Any additional information you can provide me about my family through the Reynolds-Taylor-Ferrell-Davis line will be most appreciated. I also came out of the Marion Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
