PARTON,RUSSELL,BRASHER,WARD

I am searching for the PARTON FAMILY, my grandma Ida died
when my father, George Jerome RUSSELL, was 4yrs old. I have
found BANISTER C. PARTON in the census in Williamson Co in
1880 with a Jane living next to a BEN PARTON. In the 1910
Banister is with the children but no wife. I have been doing
genealogy for less than a year and would appreciate any
help. I have a tip that Jane name could be ALPHIN. Also the
name of HOPPLIN. My grandfather, GEORGE RUSSELL,lived and
farmed in Williamson county for years and is buried in
Simmons Cemetery. JoAnn from CA

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL

Was all or part of Williamson County ever called "Marion
County"? I find 1870 census index listings of Marion
County, localities Sandoval PO, Salem PO, and Kimnundy PO.
Are these locations now in Williamson County? The surname
I'm researching is JACK. Thanks

Jonathan M. Smith and Andrew J. Morgan-childhood friends from TN to IL

Andrew J. Morgan married Mary "Polly" Ann Raney in 1853 in
Lincoln Co., TN. They were living in Williamson Co., IL in
the 1860 census. Polly died in 1877 and Andrew married 2nd
widow Martha J. Sweet in 1878 in Williamson Co., IL. Her
first husband John Sweet had died in 1875 in Mill Spring,
Wayne Co., Missouri. Andrew J. Morgan died in 1880 in
Williamson Co., IL. Martha drew a pension on his Civil War
service. Jonathan M. Smith stated he was well acquainted
with Andrew J. Morgan ever since he was a boy. Were they
related? Did Jonathan M. Smith come to IL from Lincoln
Co., TN? Am trying to find the maiden name of Martha Sweet
Morgan, who was born in TN, and what/who brought her to
Williamson Co., IL.

Parks Family

I am researching the family of George Washington Parks,
born December 28th, 1846. All I can document is he was
born in Illinois, Father James Parks. George had 9 children
I can document Gilbert R., Eva, and my grandmother Dana.
George went to Texas between 1887 and 1891, later moved to
Oklahoma. His last place of residence was in Marion,
Illinois. George and his father James possibly have ties
to the Crab Orchard Community.

Roses of Williamson

My G.G.Grandfather, Andrew Jackson Rose, listed his
residence as Bainbridge, upon entering the Union Army in
Sept. 1862. He had a family from two marriages at that
time. Both wives were deceased. The eldest child was my
G.Grandfather Andrew J."Wiley" Rose, there were several
younger siblings. Was there another Rose or Walston family
known to be in the area at that time? His second wife was
Elizabeth Walston. I know thats a huge request. But I can't
help but wonder where his family may have lived. I'm not
sure he owned property in Williamson Co. He did live in
Johnson Co. for many years, and is buried there. I know he
and his brother Matthew both enlisted in the 109th Infantry
in Union Co. Thank you for any help. Clement A. Rose
