Cemeteries in Herrin
I'm looking for the grave of my Grandmother's youngest sister, Mary Laskowski (also spelled Laskoski/Loskoski). She died at abt age three during the influenza epidemic (1918?). She was taken to the hospital in Herrin, where she died. Her parents chose to bury her in Herrin rather than transporting her body home to Royalton, IL.

My Grandmother only knows that Mary was buried in Herrin and nothing more. As the family was not wealthy, it is very possible that she does not have a tombstone.

Can anyone tell me of a community cemetery in Herrin, or as the family was Polish Catholic, any Catholic or Russian Orthodox cemeteries where she may have been buried?

Much appreciated.

Nannie Holsapple-Lane-First
Looking for any information about Nannie Holsapple. She was first married to Walter Lane, who was a telegrapher for the railroad. He died sometime around 1909. They had two sons born in Vermillion Co. Gerold and Henry were their names. Sometime between 1910 and 1917 she met Jess First and had another son, Heram Jasper "Jack" First, in Bush,IL. Don't know if she actually married Jess First. When she died, we think in the 1950's, she was in a nursing home in or around Marion. She was buried in a cemetery, and years later when family tried to find her, they were told by the caretaker that a road had been built through the area where she was. Does this cemetery sound familiar to anyone??? If so, please let me know the name of it. Also any names of williamson county nursing homes in the 50's would be greatly appreciated!

Marshall and Zula Richardson
Marshall and Zula Richardson were both murdered, June 4, 1931 near Herrin, Illinois. Marshall Richardson was a successful chicken farmer, well known and respected in the community. There was a huge article in the newspaper, 3 full columns, about their murders and the fire set to conceal the murders. The fire burned their home and out buildings. This article heading is....Evidence Indicates Woman Was Burned Alive In Farm House As Double Murder Defies Solution. I need the complete newpaper article along with their obits. They are buried in the Herrin City Cemetery. Any information from the Custodians of the cemetery, if possible, would also be appreciated. I realize I am asking for a lot of information. But any little bit of it will help me answer the many questions surrounding this part of my quest. Thank you so much for anything forthcoming.

Cemetery Records / Samuel Barnes, - 1858
Does anyone have access to cemetery books for Williamson Co?
I'm trying to track down Samuel Barnes who died in 1858 in Illinois, however this Ky. document unfortunately does not give a county or other location in Illinois. Samuel was born in MD and had traveled to Ill. from Ky. after 1850, possibly with one of his sons, Robert. I just rec'd a lead that a Samuel E. Barnes was living in Williamson County.

Thank you
