HIstory/photo of home

dkahlf@yahoo.com

I would like to locate a photo and some history of the home my family has purchased in Carterville. D.P Jackson's widow Leta was the former owner and some people have told us that it was moved from across the street on Anderson st.
The house was built in 1912.

RHEA, Robert M and Julia M. Wright

rhea@asde.net

I am looking for death records, or any records other than marriage record, for the above two people.  I have the marriage record of December 10, 1886 but that is the last "sighting" of my gggrandfather.  He was 79 at the time of this marriage, so I doubt there were children, but I could be wrong.  I know he lived in several areas around Marion, where the marriage took place, including Blairsville and Carbondale.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Moores of Williamson County

ptdraper@aol.com

Why are the Moores of Williamson County so elusive?  My Great Grandmother was listed as Louiza Moore born in Johnston City on my grandmother's death certificate. That seemed to be a dead end until I found out my great-grandfather's name was Isaac Ross Belcher not just Ross as he was listed in the censuses and on his grave marker. I found on the marriage list that Isaac R. Belcher and Rutha L. Moore were married July 25, 1872.  My Grandmother, Winnie Belcher Draper Shaw, was born in 1890,Ross Belcher was listed as a widower in the 1900 census and as a butcher in Herrin so I have to assume Rutha Louisa Moore Belcher must have died between 1890 and the 1900 census. I am reasonable sure there must have been older siblings. Does this ring any bells with anyone?  I see Jerry Mullins has some Moores listed in some of his stuff.Thank you, Phil Draper, Bay City Michigan

Oma Rowe Rolando

twkcsk@heart.net

Oma Rowe Rolando was my father's aunt.  She was born in Kentucky in May of 1889. She came to Herrin with her family, E. R. & Sara E. Maddox Rowe around 1900.  She married John Rolando ?????.  They lived on 16th Street in Herrin.  She died in 1946 acording to her tombstone at the catholic cemetary in Herrin.  I cannot find any record of her marriage or death at the Williamson County court house.  Can any one tell me where she died and where they were married.  Her Husband died in the Coal City, IL in 1953.

Location of "Shadyrest" Charlie Birger Hideout

krb49@hotmail.com

Several years ago, I found, what was suppose to be the location of Shadyrest on Old Rt 13 about 6-7 mi. East of Marion.  There was a granite marker along side the road indicating the location.  I believe the marker had been placed by the Daughters of American Revolution and had been vandalized but was still legible.  Now with new Route 13 I tried to locate this marker again to show my son and couldn't find anything.  It looks like all the ground now is "locked out" by private ownership.

Can anyone verify this or better yet, tell me where I can find a picture of this marker at it's location.  Or tell me if I can still get to the location and marker.
Thanks. Ken
